Hey Estrelinha,
Thanks for your comment! I was happy to see your understanding of Capoeira. Spot on!
I hope to be around to see your development both in life and Capoeira; as I'm sure you'll rock!
Abraço!

Well, I think one of the reasons is the power capoeira brings. Like, a power of love and freedom. In the Roda we're free to do whatever we want, we don't have to follow any rules. Or okay, it's not passable to just kick the berimbau-player in the face, but you get my point, eh?
In many other sports or hobbies it's about to be the best. Everybody wants to be the best - or at least better. Of course everybody wants to be better in capoeira, too.
But, the difference is:
In, for instance, football it's like "everybody wants to be the best, and I'm so much better than you!"
In capoeira it is "everybody wants to be the best - let's help each other!"
That's what I think.
My two passions in life are music and capoeira. In music, you can improvise on the guitar and play exactly what you want. It's the same thing in capoeira.
I have never liked to do what anyone else told me to do, haha.

That's one of the many reasons, in my opinion.

+ the most of the people I met who play capoeira are very friendly and nice :)

(sry for some English mistakes, I'm tired and 12... haha)

Ola' C.M Eurico,
thank you very much for having posted my article here.

...and I take the chance to say that where ever I went to practise capoeira I was extremely well surprised by he respect that everybody have shown for me. No hierarchy for that : thank you to everybody.
This is areal jewel of Capoeira enclave!
The solidarity that my spirit feels deserves it , not myself, as a pure two footed animal.
Axe' , muito axe'
Vamos pedir o Axe' pra a proxima roda comencar.
